Chairman's Cup 2011
Our former President Paddy Nesham presented the Chairman’s Cup – the premiere award of the KSSA - to Kent Schools Sailing Association at the time of her chairmanship of the Kent County Council.
The award is made each year at the KSSA Regatta for Special Endeavour.
This is the first time in
the 25 years of this trophy that it is being awarded to the same person on two
occasions - covering different areas of special endeavor
This year the general
promotion of KSSA and the enthusiastic leadership of action afloat has taken a
refreshing new direction.
The young man still competes in the RS fleets when he has time but the great
support to KSSA has come in the way that he combines his part-time RYA job as
the Kent OnBoard Officer promoting youth sailing and helping encourage
progression onto KSSA events.
The Chairman’s Cup for 2011 goes to Sam Rowe - a young person sailing with KSSA for many years but now taking an organisational role within the RYA & KSSA. Thank you for all your efforts and congratulations on the many successes - keep up the great work Sam.
