Chairman's Cup 2005
The Chairman’s Cup
The premiere award of the KSSA - was presented to Kent Schools Sailing
Association by our recent President Paddy Nesham at the time of her chairmanship
of the Kent County Council.
The award is made each year at the KSSA Regatta for special endeavour.
This year the trophy goes to a person who has made a strong contribution to
sailing in Kent over a number of years.
| • | The action started with KSSA in the mid 90’s |
| • | Have achieved a number of honours at KSSA and NSSA events in dinghy racing and team racing |
| • | Strong single-handed performers who in earlier years were very successful on the national Topper class stage and recently very accomplished Laser Radial class sailors |
| • | Qualified as RYA Sailing Instructors and are already helping teach the next generation |
| • | Winners of the premiere NSSA award at the 2005 National Regatta at Grafham Water – winning the prestigious Mount Haes Trophy |
| • | Great ambassadors for their school, Club, KSSA, and the sport of sailing in general |
The Chairman’s Cup for 2005 jointly goes to a member of Wilsonian & Downs SC and
until recently a student at Gravesend Boys Grammar School – Sam Rowe and also to
another member of Downs SC and Sir Roger Manwoods School, Sandwich – Robert
Waite.
We wish Sam and Robert every success in their future studies and life afloat –
we will watch their results with special interest.
