Chairman's Cup 2001

 The Chairman’s Cup

The Chairman’s Cup – the premiere award of the KSSA - was presented to Kent Schools Sailing Association by our recent President Paddy Nesham at the time of her chairmanship of the Kent County Council.

The award is made each year at the KSSA Regatta for special endeavour.

This year the trophy went to go a person who has made a strong contribution both on and off the water to sailing in Kent.

•     Strong County Sailing Team member for a number of years helping senior and junior sailors
•     An enthusiastic all-round performer with expertise in a number of classes especially the Laser
•     A KSSA Executive Committee member representing the interests of the sailors
•     A great ambassador for his school, Club, KSSA, and the sport of sailing in general
•     A real ‘gentleman’ of youth sailing

The Chairman’s Cup for 2001 went to a member of Bewl Valley SC and student at Tonbridge School, he is Phil Kennard.

We wish Phil well in his future sailing and forthcoming University studies in Warwick.
